Joel Thomas grew up around aviation. His father, a private pilot, once picked him up from school and flew him to the Bahamas for a burger — and that was enough. He never lost the thread.

After a career in finance, Joel founded Stratos Jet Charters in 2006 with a straightforward premise: a charter brokerage that put the client first, operated transparently, and held safety to a higher standard than the industry required. Stratos was among the first brokerages in the country to earn ARGUS Certified Broker status — independently audited, not self-reported.

Joel serves on the board of the Air Charter Association (ACA), advocating for higher standards across the industry. He built the SOAR membership program to combine the flexibility of on-demand charter with the predictability of guaranteed availability. Today, with his own pilot's license, he remains as focused on client education and safety as the day he started.
